The modern processing plant for residual waste in the Chemical Park completely fulfils the stipulations of the 17th Federal Pollution Control Act.
The thermal residual waste treatment plant is operated by PD energy GmbH. The company was founded in 2006 and has its headquarters in Bitterfeld. The company has 27 employees.
Equal shareholders are
- Chemiepark Bitterfeld-Wolfen GmbH and
- Danpower GmbH.
- The thermal residual waste treatment plant has an electrical capacity of approx. 10 MW, combined with the supply of 15 MW steam and district heating.
- Approx. 130,000 t of domestic and industrial waste are thermally processed per year.
Facts
- Heat is supplied to companies in the Chemical Park via the steam network.
- It is led through a newly installed line to the long-distance heating network of Bitterfelder Fernwärme GmbH.
- Electricity is fed in the network of the local electricity provider.
- PD energy GmbH is certified as a specialized waste disposal company (EFB - Entsorgungsfachbetrieb)
- The plant fulfils all requirements to processing procedures for energy generation. This corresponds to the stipulations of the European Waste Framework Directive. Thus it was granted the certificate for the energy efficiency factor R1.
